Planning Blog

 Props

The main prop we will be using will be multiple colors of Paper Mate InkJoy Retractable Gel Pens with a medium 0.7 mm point. We will also use a notebook, a table, paper clips, back-backs, and a coffee cup.

Costumes

We are not doing specific costumes for filming. However, we will be trying to dress in school-appropriate clothes with a preppy school-spirited business casual vibe. We will make sure that we are in the same clothes for filming regardless of the day. Our story's timeline is one school day, so a costume change from an actor would be unnecessary.

Schedules

On 9/23/21, the group will research conventions and codes of Office supply products.

On 9/23/21, the group will establish the props, costumes, Schedules, location list, and a backup plan.

On 9/29/21, the group will create the storyboard for the 30-second commercial.

On 10/1/21 and 10/5/21, the group will film the necessary shots on location for the commercial.

On 10/7/21 and 10/11/21, our group will edit the commercial and finalize it.

On 10/11/21, Our group will turn in the final product.

On 10/13/21, we will complete the reflection of the commercial process.

Location

The primary location will be the media center staircase.  We will film our Main actor losing her beloved pen. It fit the theme of Papermate's slogan that their pen is the most stolen. We will also film a transition shot of the pen's journey from person to person throughout the school.

The following prominent location would be a classroom setting. Here we will showcase the actor reuniting with her pen, only for it to be stolen once more. We will also use other locations throughout the school, such as the cafeteria, the track field, the library section of the media center, the hallway in building 20, the senior patio, and the office.

Backup Plan

If the weather conditions are poor, we won't use the track field option as a location and cut that scene. Instead, we would film in the other sites. All of our other areas are inside or are covered. We could walk around the campus for inspiration if we needed another location if we were short on our time constraint. If one of the actors is absent, we could push the date because most shots contain only a single person. Or if the camerawoman is missing, we have a backup filmer.
